We do hope you will be joining us for a relaxing afternoon of fun and friendship.

ANNUAL “DINNER” at the Drift Golf Club

The Drift Golf Club The Drift, Forrest Road, Leatherhead, Surrey

Dear All
Please find attached details of the TSCC Annual Dinner, again this year to be held at the Drift Golf Club in East Horsley.

This is the flagship event in our annual calendar when we come together to celebrate the current year and look forward to the next.

We very much hope you will be able to join us.

This year the ‘Dinner’ will be a lunchtime event. There are three reasons for this. Firstly, to get there you will not have a battle with the evening rush hour. Secondly your journey home will not involve a drive in the dark. And thirdly, from the vantage point of our dining room, we will enjoy a wonderful view over the golf course.

During the event we will be holding our Annual Raffle, the most important fundraiser for our charitable activities.

As ever, may we ask everyone to bring along a suitable raffle prize?

Also, the Annual Dinner is when you choose the winner of the Ray Andrews Photographic Competition. A reminder that this year the theme is simply “Red”. This provides immense scope for imaginative interpretation. So now is the time to scroll back through your photos to find the one that will most impress your fellow judges! Details of how to submit your entry will follow in due course.

Again, we really do hope you will be joining us to catch up with old friends and to celebrate another active and successful year for the Club.

We look forward to hearing from you and to the pleasure of your company.

Many thanks and best regards
Mark

Carol Service at Guildford Cathedral

Guildford Cathedral Stag Hill, Guildford, Surrey

Dear all

Please attached details of a carol concert at Guildford Cathedral on Wednesday 11th December in support of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance.

We do hope you will join us for this pre-Christmas festive event in support of a very worthy cause.

Whilst Guildford Cathedral has a very plain exterior, internally it is stunningly beautiful and well worth a visit for its architecture alone.

For those who arrive early for a chat and some mulled wine, there should be ample parking. And if you are a blue badge holder, let us know and we will organise a priority space for you. In the unlikely event that you arrive late, there is overflow parking on the adjacent university campus. I attach a map that shows the location of the parking and the footpath back to the cathedral.

Again, we do hope you will be joining us for what should be a memorable evening of carols and festive joy.

We look forward to your confirmation.

Best regards

Mark

The Statement of Financial Activities for the 12 months ending on 31st December 2024 will be circulated as soon as this has been prepared.

IMPORTANT – Please note that Surrey Scouts has recently been subject to a full external audit. The TSCC is constituted as a unit within Surrey Scouts. One of the requirements coming out of this audit is that the financial year of all units within Surrey Scouts must be harmonised. As a consequence, our financial year-end must be moved to 31st March. In order to achieve this alignment, our current financial year will be extended to 31st March 2025. At our AGM on 8th February we will report on the twelve month period ending 31st December. Subsequent to 31st March we will circulate a Statement of Financial Activities for the full 15 months ending on that date.

We do hope you will join us for our AGM when, as usual, there will also be the opportunity to chat and catch up with other members over a cup of tea or coffee and some light refreshments.

As ever, we will be relying on all members to bring along a contribution to the nibbles. Committee members will bring sandwiches and other members are requested to bring cakes and / or savouries. All contributions gratefully appreciated but if possible home-made would be fantastic. Tea and coffee will be supplied.

Your Committee looks forward to seeing you on Saturday 8th February.

Wishing you and your family a joyous Christmas and a happy, healthy 2025.

Mark Marriott
